The Kansas Livestock Foundation (KLF), in conjunction with Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health (ISP), is offering $9,000 in scholarships for the 2010-11 school year. Applicants must be pursuing careers in agriculture or a related field.

Cattlemen come together to talk marketing and industry

The Kansas Cattlemen's Association hosted a supper and meeting in Corning, Kansas where more than 75 cattlemen and women attended. The meal was prepared by Jim and Freda Dobbins and Ginny and David Pfrang. After supper Brandy Carter, Executive Director of the KCA, provided a brief overview of the numerous issues facing producers.

NPPC applauds reopening of Russian Market

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Pork Producers Council today applauded an agreement reached between the United States and Russia that will re-open the Russian market to U.S. pork. By the end of last year, Russia had delisted virtually all U.S. pork facilities, prohibiting them from shipping pork to the country.

March is National Nutrition Month, and more specifically, March 10th is Registered Dietitian Day. In support of this month, the checkoff’s food and nutrition communications team continues to communicate about "29 Ways Toward Better Health" to reinforce the availability and affordability of 29 lean beef steaks, roasts and ground beef choices during a time when media, consumers and health professionals are talking about nutrition.
